Old thread. But if you actually read it, you'll see that in the very first post the forum policy was stated and "left at that" without further comment, but the OP opted to ignore that policy and persist in repeatedly asking for the software. Because it must not apply to him.

Remote Central didn't create URC's software policy, and regardless of how anyone else feels about it, it's still URC's right to decide how their software should or shouldn't be distributed. All we can do is try to inform consumers about this policy before they buy a remote, so that they buy from the right source and get the software they need. But if you weren't aware and find yourself stuck without software, you have to take it up with your dealer or - if that is no longer an option - directly with URC... or look into creating a new relationship with a local dealer. Don't pester strangers on a forum into breaking a policy that could impact their ability to do business with URC.

Agreed Daniel. My point is, further requests should have been ignored or whoever the forum manager is maybe lock it or responded restating the policy and then lock it. I think that would have avoided the thread spiraling into useless fodder, but no biggie. I realize stuff like this happens on forums from time to time.

I know the thread is old. I came across it while researching because I was actually in the same boat recently. I purchased the same exact remote without knowing about the software issue. I presumed it would be similar to getting software like my Pronto remote. Fortunately I was able to get the software though.

I've been a member of this forum for a while mostly lurking, reading & learning. Very useful resource. Just don't want it to go to crap. So with that said, keep up the good work guys :)

All,

Does anybody know what is the latest software version release for the MX-3000? I have the old CD, and I am able to get the software updated through the "Live Update" option, but I don't think that the database with the latest equipment support has been updated. The version I have is 1.20.154 and I am wiling to pay for the latest release if there is one that will support my Denon AVR-X3000. Unfortunately I don't know any other site that could possibly guide me to the right path.
I also tried emailing URC several times, but never got a response. I purchased my remote from 6ave. many years ago, and they are just a 3rd party seller, so they offer no support. I know that the software is not available on this site or forum, but I'm sure that someone can point me to the right direction.

Any help anybody can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

So when you go to the Communications Tab and select Live Update, it won't load any version beyond 1.20.154?

Did you try any of the other Denon codes?

newer versions have an automatic update that prompts you to update to the new version.

i believe there were some versions of the mx3000 editor that were not able to be updated this way.  you would need a copy of the new version.

So I purchased my remote via 6th AVE. website who sells many electronics, and I have called them, but they told me that I need to contact Universal directly in order to get a copy, is that true? does anybody have a customer service number for them? I just need to get the latest software.

Thanks!

I love the way people guard URC CCP stand alone editors like they are the bees knees. Most of that stuff is ten years old and until about a year ago was available to practically anyone on line.

Yes I was.

And the graphics are a complete joke. How can people still use this? I understand keeping a pronto around for learning capabilities, but who needs a space ship with the graphics capabilities of an original nokia cell phone.

And what is URC going to do about it? Track our IP addresses and have us arrested for getting some old, obsolete software for our very expensive paperweights purchased from your company?... Actually I hope u guys continue to monitor the public forums and maybe URC will learn some basic lessons on customer satisfaction

So many people were angry when the files went private and required a log in.
I was a little frustrated myself when I needed a stand alone editor that was merged into CCP and no longer available, even when I had access to the control room.

Their decision makes sense, though.

I went to a training for a new (at the time) control system that came out a few years ago. At training, we installed the software and it had approx 5 IR devices in its database. that's it! Someone asked when the company would be updating their IR database. The instructor told us to get our IR data files from URC. Imagine that. A control company not doing their due diligence in making a good db, but instead pointing you somewhere else.
