6.  A a final note, if you’ve recently purchased a URC remote and find yourself without software, please do not ask someone on this site to give it to you. This is against URC’s policies. If your dealer will not give you the software and did not inform you at the time of purchase that professional programming was required, then they should not have sold you the remote in the first place. Return it and buy from someone else.

Just so you know... I and others at URC do monitor this and other public forums. When you ask the community to send you unauthorized copies of URC software, it goes on our radar too.

I really dont care to tell you the truth.....URC makes it so hard to get the software when it requires no degree to program the remote. I really don't understand why you people lock this software up so much, you make it seems like its something of national security or something haha.....
People who buy your product obviously like it, so why would you hold the software to program it back from the consumers? It's like you buy a car but they won't give you the keys to drive it.

You need a license to drive a car.

wow. pretty sad attitude and responses to someone seeking help. why not just state the forum policy and leave it at that if you can't provide the software folks? leave the threats & jokes for the less mature. just a thought

Old thread. But if you actually read it, you'll see that in the very first post the forum policy was stated and "left at that" without further comment, but the OP opted to ignore that policy and persist in repeatedly asking for the software. Because it must not apply to him.

Remote Central didn't create URC's software policy, and regardless of how anyone else feels about it, it's still URC's right to decide how their software should or shouldn't be distributed. All we can do is try to inform consumers about this policy before they buy a remote, so that they buy from the right source and get the software they need. But if you weren't aware and find yourself stuck without software, you have to take it up with your dealer or - if that is no longer an option - directly with URC... or look into creating a new relationship with a local dealer. Don't pester strangers on a forum into breaking a policy that could impact their ability to do business with URC.

You should just change the title of the sticky to say: Do not ask for software.

The software was actually shipped in the box with the MX-3000. Maybe go back to the person that provided the remote to you and ask him/her.
