Hi, I need to teach my MX-3000 the IR code for CTRL+ALT+R on an HTPC to start a certain software program. However, when I try to teach, pressing any of the keys alone will register a good IR code, and I'm unable to hit all three at once. I though that the ALT and CTRL buttons simply changed the output of the regular key being pressed (in this instance "R"), but it seems they are individual key presses in their own right.

How do I go about learning the triple key press?

Thanks
Chris

I run EventGhost on my HTPC which can be programmed to execute whatever combination of keypress that you'd like in response to a given IR code received.

I use Windows 7. The EventGhost site doesn't say is supports that OS (only 2000/XP/Vista) I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS, and wonder whether it can be used with EventGhost?

My HTPC is in fact running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. EventGhost works without issue, so you should be good to go. When sending IR codes to your HTPC the left pane of EventGhost should capture the event which in turn you can associate with an action you've created in the right pane by peforming a simple drag and drop. Very easy software to use. In fact, I use EventGhost on my laptop as well to automate certain repetitive tasks I routinely perform with the remote control programming software that I use. Great program.

Is there a IR Receiver that you can recommend for using EventGhost with? I have this IR receiver but EventGhost doesn't recognize it because its not a true MCE receiver I suppose....
