I have read all the messages on the forum concerning a replacement cable for the MX3000. Some how my cable has disappeared. URC does not have them any more. Can anyone help? Even usb connector replacement info would be helpful, I am capable of doing that. [email protected]
Regards
Darrell

Darrell. I saw that there was no response to this post a few months ago so I decided to give it a shot if you are still looking. The MX3000 cable is pretty hard to find as of late. It is a basically a DB-9 serial to mono headphone cable. Most of the newer computers do not even have serial ports so you may need to find a 25 pin adapter if you have a 25 pin port. I just did an extensive search and was only able to find one on ebay (I try to avoid buying on ebay but sometimes its the only option) for about $35 shipped which is a bit expensive for a cable. Here is a link to it below:

I will keep an eye out for a cheaper cable and post back if I find one.

Nope. Not even close. The ver 1 USB is like a sub-micro USB with a little hump in the middle. URC is the only company that I've seen that used that plug.

It is _not_ the DB-9 to TRS 3.5mm plug, which is what the MX-850 uses.

The sad thing is that listing states that the cable will work for the MX900, 950, and 3000. THEY don't even know what they are selling.

My MX3000 uses a standard mini-usb, but I have just bought a TB Toshiba extrnal HDD, and that uses a really odd mini usb connector with a 'hump' on it, luckly it came with the required lead - might be worth seeing if its a Toshiba type USB ?

Best of luck

The original MX-3000 USB cable was proprietary. I have one of those remotes. The mini USB connection on the MX-3000 was introduced later.

No idea what the name of the type of connector they used is.
