With respect, I would like to ask what one needs to do to obtain a version of the MX-3000 software that contains the hex editor? Yes, I purchased the MX-3000 used and I've since learned that URC has a policy of denying updated software to folks like me.

As a professional coder of some 30 years I promise that I can use this software without hurting myself or anyone else. I need the hex editor because I have a database of hex codes for some older equipment for which I no longer have the original remote controls.

Thanks,
jz

There's only one version of the MX3000 editor and if you have it then a live update should take you to the current version. The hex editor is part of the universal browser.

Not sure if this is correct, from my memory, for a while you could get a version from URCs web site if you put in the serial # of the remote, (I did this when I got my MX3000 with a corrupt disc) this did not update.

the sticky at the top part of this section asks that you don't ask for software on this site.  (item 6)

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have a version of the software that does not have the Hex editor feature. I'm informed by the 'live update' process that I have to make other arrangements to get the 'latest' version of the software.

Thank you, also, Duct Tape; Having read the 'sticky at the top part of this section' before I phrased my request, I took care to not to 'ask for software on this site.' I don't mind that you choose not to be helpful and I'm sure you can find a better use for your pen.

if you read the sticky, then you should be able to figure out that you are SOL.  I don't see what the purpose of your post is, other than to obtain the software from someone on this site.

as far as help goes, how about this?
use the pronto edit software available on this website. this software accepts hex codes.   get an old pronto remote from ebay.  load the pronto edit file to the remote, then teach the codes to the mx3000.

Duct Tape: Now THAT is a good suggestion! It prompts me to recall that I have an old HP 'organizer' that can probably do that!

Thank you.
