Hi,

I am aware of LEARN feature from Original remote. Does URC remote has any other type of learning. I am not sure of technical terms. I think RAW / HEX.

I tried learning my Dyson Fan with the factory remote, but it works intermittently. I tried learning different ways with fluttering technique, distance technique, learn1, learn2 etc.

I always have to click 4-5 times until the fan speed button works once or twice.

Any good solutions?

Here are other things i tried.
Downloaded the commands to Logitech Harmony remote as they have it in their database. The logitech remote is able to send the codes perfectly. So i tried learning from logitech remote instead of factory remote. That also did not work.

TIP: Having a spare logitech remote works good for installers. I found my samsung tv discrete ON/OFF switch in logitech database when I did not find it out anywhere. Learnt from the logitech remote to the URC remote.

I actually carry my RTI learner around with me for this reason. I just use there learner & software to learn all of my codes into hex form. I then copy and paste the codes into the URC software. Works like a charm.

I also use the RTI software as a second database when I'm looking for hex commands when the codes in URC's database are missing or wrong.

I have complained to URC multiple times about not having a learner or providing something in the software that shows the hex commands after learning codes in their software. And nothing....

any other alternatives to learn the IR command and convert them to hex form? The RTI learner is expensive and only available to RTI dealers.

Yeah, Prontos are good learners. Particularly the early ones, if you can deal with the serial port interface. Then, just import the Pronto hex into your URC software.

Software is available in the dowloads section of this site.

you use a serial to usb cable, and an 1/8" to db9 cable.  Both readily available.

finally got the pronto tsu2000.

purchased a usb to rs232 cable. managed to install drivers in windows xp. but the software is not able to detect the remote.

I guess this is a cable issue with cheap USB to RS232 cable. Editing the post. Will post back if I have any question.
