Working with a new remote this evening and had something truly baffling show up.
I have a macro programmed to turn on my system. This includes turning on a Lumagen Video Processor.
When I construct the macro, I use the IR navigator to put the "Power On" for the Lumagen. No matter what I do - for some reason, that code is not working...everything else in the macro (Marants Pre/Pro, Oppo Blu-ray, Panasonic Plasma) works just fine. Tried turning up the IR - nada. Here's the weird part: if I alias the code to the Lumagen device power off, it works. Any ideas? I get the same thing with my JVC projector: can ad the code for power-on or off through the IR Database Navigator...nada... Do a alias to the same commands in the device - works fine. I'm totally and completely stumped.

Drag the IR code from the IR navigator to a button and then Alias to it. URC has always been this way. You can't drag the command from the IR navigator directly into a macro.

Really?? I have three remotes - an mx-900 and two mx-880's I've programmed like this with absolutely zero issues. Plus, why would the method work for the plasma, marantz and oppo but not the lumagen or projector?

Actually, I've programmed at least a dozen various urc models for friends using this. It's working now, but as a scientist, the situation is just odd.

So instead of using the IR database you're going to the IR navigator and dragging the codes directly into your macro's?

I'm assuming you're talking about macro's on the Watch page.

If you are pulling the code directly into the macro, it doesnt know which port on the mrf-350 to fire from. Unless of course you are using RF code 0 on the MRF in which case you are flashing every port on the MRF during a macro and no doubt flooding the lumagen.

Clearly I wasn't using best practices, but I did check this. My base station is on not on zero, but i have all ports firing. Because i was concerned about flooding the lumagen I even tried putting an obscenely long delay between the on code for the lumagen and that didn't correct the problem. I'll redo tonight as has been suggested.

RF ID 0 is the address for sniffing mode and accepts all RF inbound codes from a URC device of the same frequency. This has nothing to do with the individual IR ports on the MRF.

Not sure why, but I read your post as the RF ID being used to route the ports. Thats what I get for reading and posting after a 15 hour day :-(
