i have an mx1200 and considering getting a 2nd remote for a 2nd system. love the mx1200 and have perfect (for me) templates that i spent countless hours tweaking.

noticed the new 890 which seems like mx1200 minus the touchscreen but the price seems to be almost the same (only ~75 less).

any reason to consider the 890 over the 1200?

4 extra buttons. red,blue,green,yellow.

Not sure how to move buttons in the page view. No programming manual.
With the 980 it's ctrl and alt. That doesn't work on the 890

Is that a new feature on mx890 not present on mx1200? can you elaborate on what this feature is for?

You can configure the remote to perform any macro at certain times of day.  Good for automating lights, wake up alarms, etc.

Do you care to explain where one might be able to find this feature, just spent 5 minutes looking through ccp and came up with nothing.

Well look at that. Didn't realize that was in there. Just uploading a file now to trigger the lights off command. Thanks for the tip.

Nice. Worked great. Of course, I had to do it twice because the first test I set the time for a couple minutes ahead to trigger the lights off. This remote takes soooooo long to upload that it passed that time.

Would you look at that! CCP is loaded with all these little Easter eggs. it's a little bassakward to make a timer work Monday thru Friday, but beggars cant be choosers.

Thanks for the tip.

I found it interesting that the mx1200 lacks this feature.

must be a firmware update away (if they bother to release it). the mx1200 has a clock so should be trivial to implement this feature no?

There are some people trying to get the feature added within URC. I expect it will show up in a not too future CCP update.
