i have an mx1200 and considering getting a 2nd remote for a 2nd system. love the mx1200 and have perfect (for me) templates that i spent countless hours tweaking.
noticed the new 890 which seems like mx1200 minus the touchscreen but the price seems to be almost the same (only ~75 less).
any reason to consider the 890 over the 1200?

Not sure how to move buttons in the page view. No programming manual. With the 980 it's ctrl and alt. That doesn't work on the 890

Timers on the mx890. Is that a new feature on mx890 not present on mx1200? can you elaborate on what this feature is for?

You can configure the remote to perform any macro at certain times of day. Good for automating lights, wake up alarms, etc.

Nice. Worked great. Of course, I had to do it twice because the first test I set the time for a couple minutes ahead to trigger the lights off. This remote takes soooooo long to upload that it passed that time.

I found it interesting that the mx1200 lacks this feature.
