That hockey basement is ridiculous. Drooling.

Hey maybe you can help me out with a problem I'm having regarding the expansion pack on the 980.( Edit - want to add here that I've done quite a bit of searching in this forum and haven't been able to locate the answer - don't want to seem lazy!!)

I have found the folders you're referring to and was able to create new ones and import images and icons from .zip files on some of the sites you linked and others that I found here on the site.

However....the expansion packs all contain .rcf files. I figured if I placed those in one of the images/ subfolders I would see those icons when I navigated there using the Image Gallery window but that doesn't work. Any idea how to view/extract the .rcf files?

In addition, the expansion pack contains new device icons and I can't figure out where those go.

Lastly, how do I edit text on top of the buttons? For example, there is a default button that goes at the top of the remote that says "Listen" for the Listen page. I like having a button there but would prefer to call it something else.

Thanks!

I have never used the expansion pack, so I can't really give any advice on that.

However, in regards to the "Listen" that is on top of the screen (in between the ON and OFF buttons), that is actually an image file, not text. You can rename the "Listen" on the tree on the left side of the simulator page, though.

To change the "Listen" on the top, you would have to manually take that image and edit it using some kind of photo editing program or something (like PAINT or Photoshop, etc.), then re-insert the modified image onto that spot. The background is black, so it is fairly easy to paint over the letters and add your own text or whatever graphics you want.

Thanks, man. I think I figured out the problem with the expansion pack icons. I think I have the 980 expansion pack when what I need is the CCP expansion pack.

My retailer is telling me that there is no 980 CCP Expansion pack available on the portal. Can anyone verify this?

Or alternately is their a way to use the .rcf files that are included in the 980 Editor Expansion pack in CCP?

Thanks.

Is this still the correct way to load images from blackmancustoms into CCP for the MX-980? If not could someone point me to a thread that does have the proper procedure spelled out.

The images (icons/button elements, etc.) in CCP are located in a Folder called Complete Control Program. Try to locate that in your computer. Then, within that is a series of subfolders. Open MX-980, then Images.

This is where you would then have to create a new "Theme" folder (Alpha 2, for example, or Fusion) You create this new folder by copying the folder that you found online and copying and/or renaming its contents to your liking and placing it in the images folder.

There are many threads here that show you step by step on how to do that.

As far as backgrounds and wallpapers, you can just insert any image you want. You just have to make sure that the image size of the picture is 240 x 320 pixels, which can be created or re-sized using the tools found here, as well.

Be careful to always practice loading your new graphics into a "copy" of a folder first. You don't want to accidentally tamper with the default files with CCP. Might be better to just create new folders and themes as you make your modifications rather than running the risk of messing up the existing ones.
