All-

Quick question...I had a cable box (Comcast / Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR) configured on my mx-350 remote. Recently I converted over to satellite (Directv box) and I am using code 173 for my remote.

Here is the question, my number pad (0-9) does not work when the remote is in the "Main" function...I have to go to Satellite and then the number pad works? When I had it configured for the comcast box the number pad worked not only under the cable tab but also under the main function as well?

I tried using various punch throughs but still not working....also I read in my manual that you cannot "learn" commands as part of the main screen....so I am not sure how the heck I got it to work on the comcast box?

Any ideas??

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.....

You need to punch from CH, that will include the digits as well. The punch to won't show Main but when promoted press the Off button.

Just tried it and for some reason its not working? I am selecting CH and then punch to comes up and I select the power off button which changes the top from CH to Main and then I select my device (satellite) for the punch from?

Correct?

Yes that's the correct procedure. You are punching from the Sat device TO the Main page which is utilized by using the OFF button. It's been years since I've setup a 350 and I don't recall ever using one with RF. We haven't sold that model since Bill Clinton was in office lol. I'm wondering if it has something to do with your RF setup, i.e. is the Main page setup for RF ALL? That's how we'd do it these days with the PC programmable remotes. See if you can get into the RF settings and make sure Main is set to RF and All. I'm out of ideas after that. I'm sure it's something simple...give urc a call if the above don't work. They should be able to walk you thru the exact process.

Not sure how to check to see if Main page is setup for RF ALL....I've never messed with that before. I went into my RF settings but there is no option to control settings for the Main page.

Anyway, I was also thinking....is it possible that specific device button (Sat) is corrupt or something? Just thinking out loud here...it used to control my cable device and all I did was change the name on the label and learned in some new commands. It still has the same macros (power on/off) attached to it that I had setup on the cable device. Another reason the corrupt issue crosses my mind is because some of the buttons work for the satellite while on the Main page like Guide, Info, Menu, Exit, Prev CH, DVR functions (FF/RW) but the number pad doesn't? Wonder if it would be beneficial if I just erased the entire device component and started over?

Thoughts? Thanks for the help by the way and if these few other tricks don't work I will attempt to contact URC customer service.

Thanks,
Michael
