Trying to add a one-way RS-232 device to a configuration with an MX-5000, MRX-1 and KP-4000. Anyone know how or if it's possible to add a 1-way serial device/RS-232 commands? Again, the device does not exist in URC's database..

Any help greatly appreciated.

i've always just added a device from the database and edited the codes.  i've never seen a way to add a blank device.

So, basically if URC doesn't have serial commands for a given device you are SOL?

Is this different than in CCP for an MSC400? If not:

Right click connected devices in your processor
Add device item
Add new device
Name the device
Check serial db
Choose your port route
Click ok
It's now in the device tree
Expand device and double click functions
Double click a blank command line in connected device window
Enter your data into the popup

For the MSC-400 - no problem. However the MRX-1 is not a processor so it doesnt let you add devices to the actual base unit. I cant figure out how to change the baud rates either - I guess I need to play around some more..

According to the manual, page 10-15, for the mrx-1 you can do all that very similar to an msc-400.
