I have been playing with the network setting on my MX-5000 communication with the MRX-1.

I originally had been using the RF to communicate through the RFX-250/MRX-1 but there would be an annoying delay from time to time. Sometimes for example the volume up/down would not respond without depressing the button a couple of times.

With the network setting the commands are much faster and more dependable. The only issue is the connection evidently goes to sleep if the remote is not used for several minutes and it takes several button pushes to wake up.

I previously have used Philips Pronto control units and they had adjustments one could make in the setup to vary the wake up for the network connection. Does the URC units/software have such settings.

I have looked at both and done a search on this forum with no luck.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

What if you go into setup (I think it is MAIN + OK) and see what the network settings give you? Think you can extend the network connect time, at the expense of battery life.

I think URC recommends using just RF for volume control, not IP because of that wake up/reconnect delay.

Just went to a home today with MX5000/MRX1 and there are issues with the network functions here. Some aspects of this setup are IR (turn on display - no prob), control Snap HDMI matrix (RF - seems OK; did have to reboot once in 90 days), and network/RS232 (Nuvo, not good). The first time the system is booted, the sound never comes on because the Nuvo is not getting commands. Repeat and you may be fine. I added some repeats today for test purposes.

If I knew how long it takes to get reconnected, I could use a variable in the macro...

Anyone else had this problem, seemingly network to RS232 only, and solved it?

Just got another call from same client. MX5000 turns on everything IR and RF, but not serial. Serial starts as wi-fi and I will find out if it's going into wi-fi hibernation and not waking up fast enough.
