I highly doubt the IP was not fake as well, through a proxy. I get several of these emails a week. Next time i get one, I'm going to refer them to you since obviously you have time to waste on them. It's odd, the last one I received had the exact same list as you listed.

I get the same e-mail every six months or so. The scammers seem to want Bose and Velodyne currently...

Hi ez1putt, saw your post regarding the CCP download from the URC website. Could you elaborate in more detail how you found it? Could you email me at [email protected]?

Thx. - much appreciated.

all I have to say is get over yourselves..URC is too lazy to hide or force registration of their software, and it's not cool to bully people who would probably hire one of you to do a more complex job just because they want to try to DIY. This whole forum is laughable in it's conceit.

Doug-

Perhaps you could utilize a little punctuation to reinforce your sentiment?

Just another jackass saying we rob people when we simply charge for our time. How about you go to work for free since that is exactly what you expect us to do.

This brings back memories...I was an angry guy back then. I'm glad I've mellowed considerably. The wisdom of age...

The best term describing such activity is necroposting.

I was angry back then too. Now, I've just moved on to other brands besides URC.

Found it myself....for the next person searching with an IT background-

The "key" is in this page. Think about looking "behind" an html page in 1995: [Link: universalremote.com]

Get the original zip dated 12/16/2009, install, then the program will update itself upon first launch.

Love it. Doesn't work anymore (404 page) but, thanks for the transparency.

With all the money you are saving by programming yourself, I will be happy to sell you a couple commas, periods, and other assorted punctuation so people can read and understand what you write.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
