Guys,

I have a URC Total Control setup consisting of

(1) MRX-10
(1) MRX-1
(1) ZR-1
(3) TRC-780s
(1) TKP-100

Needless to say it has been a PAINFUL transition from my Pronto TSU-9600 system, but since the Pronto line was no longer a choice I made the jump right after the URC products became available. Not only did I probably get the first hardware off the line from my dealer, but I was also the guinea pig for him to setup and program the system as well. A VERY pricey privilege to be sure.

What started out pretty rocky has leveled out, after replacing my MRX-10 which had a SERIOUS lockup issue and adding a ZR-1 to help increase the wireless coverage into the Great Room.

But I am back to having problems. The ZR-1 is the "old" style I believe and cannot be found by my MRX-10 any longer. The new CCP Accelerator references a ZR-1N during the Live Update, which I don't have. And I finally was able to get a new PoE switch to get the TKP-100 up and going, only to have it be non-responsive when I try to "Download" thru CCP Accelerator to it.

The most pressing issue is the TKP-100, as I just spend a large chuck of change to get my new Cisco PoE 26 port switch. The TKP-100 is recognized in CCP, I can see it on the network, I have assigned it an IP using my FW/Router so the IP doesn't change, I can ping it with success, but I get a [Error] Failure in CCP when I hit "Download to Selected Devices". Does anyone have any experience with this device?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think you need to call your dealer Im sorry to say but I don't think your gonna get any help from anyone on this site. By the way ZR1's are all supposed to be replaced by ZR1N's.

Matt,

I assume by your response you mean unable to help because no one is really using this product?

The problem with calling my dealer is I am FAR outside his expertise and comfort level at this point, and although my dealer is great (even if I had to get CCP from another source because he plays everything by the letter of the law), I am afraid I will be paying to be the science project again.

Hopefully someone can help.

No that's not what I meant. I am going to take the high road and not start an argument with you. I hope you find a way to get your system up and running correctly.

I'm trying to understand why he would even take on the project if he didn't feel he was qualified to. URC allows dealers to give the software to their clients so I'm wondering what scared him about giving it to you?

i believe all the ZR1's are a free swap out for the ZR1N.  contact your dealer to get it replaced.

Matt,

Wasn't trying to argue, I apologize if you took it that way. All I was trying determine is why you thought I wouldn't be able to get assistance here. While I'm not new to the system (had it for year), I am new to this forum section. I have visited RC Central frequently and I always was able to get assistance with my TSU9600 programming on the Pronto forum, so that is why I was reaching out here. Sorry for the confusion or if I offended.

K,

Why does anyone take on a project that they aren't qualified for? Most of the time they don't know they aren't qualified for it until its too late. I was the first project on Total Control that they had done and while they had gone thru all the training, they still were really green on CCP Accelerator not to mention URC still had a TON of bugs to work out on their side as well. There were 3 CCP Accelerator updates in the week they were on site because of bugs we found.

As to why they didn't give me the software, it boils down to they didn't want to let CCP Accelerator out because they didn't want to upset URC and so they could charge me more in the future. It has nothing to do with my technical ability (I am and engineer and work on IT/software projects for my day job). I have completely redone my programming to actually work the way they were contracted to do it, but couldn't. And while they didn't tag me for all the hours, I still got tagged pretty well.

Hopefully that addresses the history, the really important issue to me is solving the problem with the TKP-100. I am at a loss. I can discover it, assign it and even query it, but when I try and check FW version or upload is when I get the error. At first I thought it might be the programming, but since I can't even query the FW, I am fairly sure it isn't a "me issue".

I have taken all the typical steps to eliminate as much as I can (cable, IT, IP conflicts, programming, comms, etc), so I'm at a loss.
