I have an MX-980 and I'd like to swap out the "listen/watch" buttons that is on my remote with "Favs" and "Home", but I need these replaceable buttons on the left shown in the photo. Note: The photo doesn't show the "Favs" button, b/c it's already attached to this remote.

Two questions:

1. Where may someone simply order these?

2. How do I know if my remote supports the buttons to be interchangeable? The back of my MX-980 says, "with replaceable labels".

This remote was purchased from a friend, who he never used that he purchased from a friend. He was not aware of buttons could be changed either. Anyway, I figure someone on here has wondered how to swap out these hard buttons.

Talk to your local URC CI. He'll have some extra ones left over from other jobs.
As far as going custom, I'm not aware of a source.

Thank you very much for this suggestion. I made an appointment with a URC dealer and they will swap out my Listen/Watch buttons with Favs/Home.

I have to many devices programmed that offer both listen and watch functionality, so it doesn't make sense for me to break them between two buttons for my family. They just want a home button to go back and select a device, meanwhile, switching out a button with something more functional like favorites is one of the most popular buttons my family asked for.

can the mx-1200 buttons be also swapped out?

I programmed the 'lights' button as essentially a child lock. one click to lock all buttons and hold 2 sec to return to prior page.

I programmed the 'Favorites' button as a help button. It has input fix as well as all the common power toggles.

I use the 'Main' as the activity page.

Yes they use the same button pack as the MX980

Jeweler screwdriver gently pry first the leftside of the button, then the right till it pops out (or right then left...)

Sounds easy enough.. now for the hard part; anyone have a "Devices" hard button for an MX-980/1200? (I've been informed they're the same buttons) Or know how to obtain some?

Thanks.

mdecou,
would you happen to maybe be willing to part with your "Devices" button for a small fee?? :)

Thanks.
