I have a couple MX-5000s that will occasionally lose wifi connections. The WiFi indicator shows full green bars, but it doesn't communicate. This happens when the remote is lifted from the charging station, but happens very infrequently. I don't think that it is the removal from the charging station, but that the remote wasn't in use for several hours or more.
WAP is an EnGenius EAP9550. Most of the access to the WAP is from the remote, but it is also accessed by a laptop and an Ipad. The MX5000s use Wifi (not bidirectional) as well as IR/serial/relay via RF and a MSC400.
To fix I can do a "battery reset" (remove and replace battery) and once its done coming back up the MX5000 works fine.
My question is, what can I do to fix this? Is there a setting on the Engenius or the MX5000I can make to keep this from happening? If not, is there a way to program a button on the MX5000 to do a wireless reset?

So I take it the only way to reset the wireless on a MX-5000 is the battery reset?

Are you using the software or going in with main+OK? You could log to a diff ssid there.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

From my experience this type of behavior is the result of the hop point or signal. You should do a wi-fi test to see if there is any dropoff around the area you are in. Also, what type of encryption are you using? Try your remote on another network and see if you experience the same results. WAP placement is crucial...
