I've controlled one Essentia with an MSC400 before, an existing system that I inherited. No problems.

Using an MRX-1 now, no response from the NuVo. MRX-1 is registered in CCP, the serial port is set for 57600 etc, using what should be good URC codes (the Concerto codes and Essentia codes are the same now). Standard URC serial cable.

I've set the NuVo in CCP for RF and for Network, but it's not supposed to matter.

What could I be missing with no response? First time with MRX-1 serial.

I did, but it seemed like you had guessed at what the problem might be and didn't come back to confirm it.

I believe the MX5000 was not connected to wi-fi. My first MRX1; I did not realize that IR is communicated thru the RFX250 but RS232 goes thru the network.

How do the two systems compare?
(MX-5000/MX-1) vs. (MX-5000/MSC-400) in regards to response time and overall functionality?

Is there a significant benefit to having 2-way RS-232 over the network?

I haven't programmed a MX-1, curious if it's worth investing in.......

Thanks,
Karl
