So this is a bit of a rant - but i thought I'd share this in case anyone ran into the same problem.
Client bought an MX880 years ago when it first came out. I programmed it using the stand-alone editor MX880, which assigns an MXJ file extension.
Fast forward to 2012 - the remote has crapped out and they want another one. No problem, I brought out another MX880 and tried to dump the old programming back into it. No go. Tried several times and finally called URC Tech Support. They tell me that the stand-alone editor is no longer compatible with the newer version MX880 remotes.
Great....this of course, happens to be a rather large file and has multiple zones with multiple MRF350's. So now what?

Well, the tech guy walks me throught the process of taking a MXJ file and converting it to CCP - which DOES work, however, no macros transferred and about 1/2 the button commands transfer. As a matter of fact, even the pages and devices are all screwy.
Finally, the tech guy tells me that i must reprogram in CCP and that's that!!

Well, poop. Maybe this is a good opportunity to move the customer into RTI...
If anyone has successfully transferred a MXJ file to CCP, please enlighten me.

Thanks and sorry if this is old news, but I was surprised to see that they would do this...

Can you upload the programming from the old remote to CCP? You might have to install an MX-880 driver into CCP. I just did this for an update to a client's remote which was originally programmed with the stand alone editor.

I tried everything possible to get that sucker to transfer - with no luck. Today, I simply reprogrammed the whole thing in CCP. 6 hours worth - whew!! that sucked..i guess it couldve been worse. Client is happy.
