Stupid Question:

I programmed my MX-900 and used upper and lower case. Its been a while since I have touched that remote and wanted to add a few buttons.

Every time I type its always in upper case and I can not figure our how to get lower case letters....even though I did this at one time months ago.

How do you get lower case letters for buttons on CCP on a MX-900?

I'm assuming you mean for the device names and Watch/Listen?

Single click the Device name on the left tree.

Choose properties tab on the right and edit the Device name properties and then hit enter.

The device will now have upper/lowercase if you set it that way and will show that on the watch/listen page and when the device is active.

You can do this with Watch/Listen as well and obviously rename them to what you want.

To my knowledge you cannot rename command buttons with lowercase, only what shows up in the left tree.

when you are in ccp. click "view" then click "pages". when you rename text on the screen with lower case, it will stay lower case. p's y's look a bit awkward but still look better than uppercase letters IMO.

That still does not allow for lowercase letters for the device commands at least on my version of CCP which is the latest and greatest.

"device commands"; are you referring to the text displayed on the main "listen" an "watch" pages? if so your caps lock key must be broken. i promise you it works.

No. Device commands are actual commands you use when you're controlling a device; i.e. DVD page1 command for 'SUBTITLE'. Not macro labels or activity based labels on the main pages.

Show me that in lowercase.

you can use lower case, it is just quirky to get it to work.  here is what i do and it may be what tweeterguy is explaining.

after you have added a device.

right click on the name in the model designer list. then choose rename.  now go to the text box in the properties tab and type in the name using lower case.   it should now appear as lower case on the remote.

I see now! When you goto View:Pages you need to edit the text in the Pages window not the Properties [Button Name] area you normally would. And you need to double click the text in the Pages window to edit it, that's the step that was missing. What's really odd is even when you do that it still shows up as all caps in the Properties. Nice!

Previously I could have sworn I had lower case in the watch listen pages for my devices. I was trying to making them all the same as I had a mix of all upper case and some lower case devices.

I think the updates have prevented lower case showing up on your device names on the watch and listen screens. I can get it to work on the individual devices, but not on the device on the watch and listen screen

After downloaded changes after all the updates, everything is in Upper case under watch and listen, but lower case remained for individual devices
