My husband recently installed speakers in the 2nd half of the basement. He is utilizing Zone 2 through the MX 450. The problem we are having is that every time he uses the remote to turn on tv etc (zone 1) zone 2 turns on also. The speakers in basement come on with loud music. To turn it off, we have to get the remote to the AV receiver and hit off under zone 2. Kind of a pain. I have the same set up upstairs, but use a different URC. This does not turn on Zone 2. It is all controlled with the AV remote. How do I get the MX450 to stop turning on both Zone 1 & 2? Thanks for any help you can give me.

he may have the wrong code programmed into the remote. or he may have the turn on macros programmed wrong.
if you state the brand/model number of the receiver, we may be able to help you find the proper set of codes.

We had someone install it so the codes were set by them. The reciever is a Yamaha RXV-665. Thanks for any help you can give me re:codes and how to implement them.

this remote isn't as simple as just swapping around code numbers by pressing a few buttons. i was under the impression that you programmed the remote yourself.
i'm not sure that anyone could easily walk you through the many steps required to program the remote properly for control of zone 2 on a receiver. your best bet would be to contact the original programmer.

Thanks for the info. It's one of those things, if it was an easy fix, fine. If not, he can just turn zone 2 off using the separate remote that came w/the Receiver. It's an extra step but way easier and cheaper than dealing with the MX450!! Thanks Again...
