The inputs are for the AVR. I will check when I get home about HDMI and see if the TV is plugged in there or the cable box. Thx

It should be the cable box. The only connection between the TV and the AVR should be a HDMI connected from the HDMI Monitor output of the AVR to one of the HDMI inputs on the TV. I will need to know what input on the TV

Are you sure on the AVR model number? I don't remember a STR-DN1000 and the database in CCP confirms that. Could it be a STR-DA1000?

Also, you do not select source HDMI 1 for example in the AVR. You would select TV/Sat or something like that. You can probably reassign them, but they should be labeled from the factory for a input such as TV/Sat. I will need those inputs (Not the HDMI port)

Ok, this is what I see:

The receiver model is correct: STR-DN1000, maybe because its about 3 years old.

Motorola RNG150N – Comcast cable box

On the Sony recevier:

HMDI 1 - BluRay
HDMI 2 - Xbox
HMDI 3 – Cable box
HDMI Out- TV

This is how the emitters are currently setup on the remote.

Emitter 1 = Audio receiver
Emitter 2 = BluRay
Emitter 3 = Seems to be running back to tv through wall
Emitter 4 = Cable box

I will look into the inputs some more.
Thanks again for the help. Appreciate it.

There is a 4th HMDI port, HDMI 4 (assignable, input only). Should this be the one I stick the cable HDMI in and then label it TV?

I am not really sure what the HDMI 4 (assignable) port is for. The manual has shows the TV setup the way I have it.

Basically, when the TV is on the AVR says HDMI3, when the Xbox is on is says HDMI 2, and Bluray, the AVR says HDMI 1.

But you are correct, there is a a button the the AVR remote that says, TV, SAT, BD, etc.
