Hi,
I'm trying to control a device using IP. I'm trying to run this command:
ht tp://10.1.1.113:8080/remote/processKey?key=up&hold=keyPress

It works if I run it from my browser.

I have the IP and port set in the device IP Command Setup.
I have a button set up to issue the IP command. I've tried the following (none work):
/remote/processKey?key=up&hold=keyPress
remote/processKey?key=up&hold=keyPress
ht tp://10.1.1.113:8080:/remote/processKey?key=up&hold=keyPress

all with ASCII & TCP.

Network connectivity works fine from the MX-5000 as I have control of a HTPC & Tivo via WiFi.

Can anyone give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong?

Oh, and I did try testing the command from the serial command window so I could see results. CCP just crashes.

Directv HR20-700

And, yes I know the standard thought is to use RF/IR. However a lot can be learned by trying.

DirecTV Poweron on an MX-5000:
GET\x20/remote/processKey?key=poweron&hold=keyPress\x20HTTP/1.1\x0D\x0AContent-Length:\x200\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A

Substitute 'poweron' for your command, i.e. poweroff:
GET\x20/remote/processKey?key=poweroff&hold=keyPress\x20HTTP/1.1\x0D\x0AContent-Length:\x200\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A

LIST:
GET\x20/remote/processKey?key=list&hold=keyPress\x20HTTP/1.1\x0D\x0AContent-Length:\x200\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A

i.e. Direct Tune to ESPN is a little different, where channel 206 is ESPN:
GET\x20/tv/tune?major=206&minor=65535\x20HTTP/1.1\x0D\x0AContent-Length:\x200\x0D\x0A\x0D\x0A

be sure to have IP and port correct, port 8080, and select "add carriage return...' radio button
I hope this helps!

NOW, WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET MY JVC PROJECTOR WORKING IP, Have it on Roomie, no joy on URC...

No Problem, no one can, the JVC has plagued me since I bought it.  I can control it with every iDevice in the house, even a shareware emulator (Hercules), but JVC and URC can't/won't help, they don't even respond, but I mean the Roomie program was $29.98 compared to the $$$ list of the URC remote...  oh wait, never mind...

I haven't used it, but Wireshark may be something you can use to figure out exactly what Roomie is sending.

Blue is from JVC Projector, Red is from URC MX-5000:

Using Wireshark (free utility to watch traffic on LAN), I get this using Hercules set-up Utility (a Virtual Terminal), it works to turn on projector (the second line is the ...PW Power on acknowledgement):

PJ_OK..,2.....,20..PJREQPJACK!..PW1
...PW

I get this using URC:
PJ_OK..,2.....,20..PJREQ,,,,21 89 01 50 57 31 0A

I am sending this in Hercules:
  1. Click Connection command button on test mode window, correct IP and port 20554
  2. I receive in virtual terminal: PJ_OK
  3. I then immediately send in ascii: PJ_REQ
  4. I receive: PJACK
  5. I then Immediately send in HEX: 21 89 01 50 57 31 0A
My URC MX-5000 Macro in CCP looks like this:

..,2.....,20..PJREQ,,,,21\x2089\x2001\x2050\x2057\x2031\x200A
  • Port and IP correct
  • I receive PJ_OK upon sending command
  • ASCII selected, automatic carriage return selected

Any ideas?  Seems I am almost there but not getting the acknowledgement ‘PJACK’ so my power on is not accepted.
