I took receipt of a URC R40 yesterday and thus far love it. I tried a Harmony prior and the Logitech software was irritating as hell. I do have a couple questions though. I know the R40 does not keep track of device power states like the Harmony, is there a URC remote that does? Is there any conceivable way to enter a HEX code on the R40? If not, is it possible on any URC remote without the CCP software? I have a device that only has a "StandBy" on the OEM remote, but the IR code sheet lists separate on/off buttons. I have talked to a couple URC dealers in my area and none of them will let me have a copy of the CCP software (with purchase of a MX remote) so I am not real sure what to do.
Thanks in advance for any help.

you can't enter codes directly, but you can learn them from another remote. The best way is to get a cheap JP1 remote and a cable, then put the codes you need into the JP1 and learn from that.

Thanks snorkel. I have started to look into that, but I am trying to get a handle on what current JP1 remotes work with cable versions and then converting the Pronto hex codes over to JP1. Seems to me there has to be a better way (other than paying an installer). It is crazy to have to jump through all of these hoops to do one lousy code.
