So I'm new to URC world and currently I'm installing MSC400 at my house. To my shock and great surprise, 400 doesn't come nor does URC offer rack ears. Surely you guys have found a part from another vendor that fits the hole pattern that we can use to rack mount the MSC400, right?

BTW, yes I know I can use clamp shelf, a RSH shelve, or something I can make for $7 worth of Home Depot parts and a can of spray paint. I'm hoping to find a part avail from disty (or direct) from another MFG that would fit the bill without any mods.

It's sad but that's URC. Why would a "professional" product be designed to go into a professional rack? I haven't been able to find anything that will work without some form of mods. It's not even sized properly for a rack so with rack ears doesn't look good.

Yep, RSH or slap it on a standard shelf. I think it's the equivalent of 1.5U high and there are no specific rack ears for it. You can also use the Panamax GRM2205 but that will a) require you to thread the side chassis and b)throw off your rack spacing a bit so you'll have gaps. We always use the RSH. Also keep in mind that the IR pots are top mounted...makes for some great fun if you need to do adjustments after the piece is mounted and you don't have enough space on top to get in there to adjust. I'd recommend the RSH with a 1U blank above for serviceability and overall clean appearance.

From Middle Atlantic: UNIVERSALREMOTEMSC400211.5RSH4A2S UNIVERSALREMOTE MSC400
It's not just the ears and adjustment pots, the feet are not removable so it doesn't have the right height either....

Hank, can you take all this feedback to your people and see if they can address these issues on next rev? Certainly no one at URC thinks that a master controller such as MSC-400 is installed in an A/V furniture with few glass shelves, right?

lol, they arent going to revise anything. they have the mrx10 which is their new baby that is rack mountable. unfortunately the mrx10 does not perform well in a rack because it does not have an external antenna.
