Hi,
Just wondering what the consensus is on the MX-450 vs the r40?
I recently picked up a MX-450 on ebay(got a great deal) and had no problems programming it aside from finding the right code for my samsung plasma.

Anyway, after I got the MX-450 I saw the r40 and it actually looks a bit nicer than
the mx-450 and has the extra 4 buttons.

I know the mx-450 has RF, but I might never use that.

Am I better off with the 450?

Thanks,

Snorkel

The MX450 does have the Archiver/IR Code update feature that the R40 does not have.

The MX-450 also lets you edit macros. I'm not sure about the R40 but the R50 does not let you edit macros. So you have to re-do them if you need to make a change.

R40 also lets you modify/edit existing macros.

FWIW, the MX-450 is the pro version of the older R50 from 2008 .

The pro version of the newer R40 is the MX-780 (both released in 2011).

I had an R50 for a week then returned it (didn't like the look and feel and didn't like the sunken side buttons), and went for the newer R40 instead - it has a more upscale/pro look, has a better button layout, and feels overall better in the hand.
