Ok am trying to user RS232 to control a Denon AVR-4311CI. FYI the 4311CI is not listed in the database under serial so I used the 4310.

I created the macros downloaded to the remote and msc-400. All of my other smart macros work for other devices, but any commands sent to the AVR produce no response.

So I have the USB hooked up to the MSC400 and when I go to a Serial Function and hit test for power ON i see a window that pops up and counts to 6/3000 and then closes. I get nothing in the test window like the manual says I should. The MSC-400 status light does light up when I hit a test command. Any ideas? I am running the urc male cable directly to the receiver.

Ok small update. Device turns off and all other commands appear to work via RS232 but ON.

I use the AVR 4810 commands on the 4311. They all work including Pwr ON. If you want to manually add some commands you can download a pdf of all the serial protocols for the 4311 here.

try checking the Power Save/Network Standby in the Network setup under OTHER. It should be set to "ON"
