Ok, I have been working on this for the past three days. I have a win7 x64 laptop. I installed XPMODE as well as VMWARE with XP PRO.

Every time I plug in my MSC-400 into the win7 machine it IS recognized by win7. Shows up under Devices in Win7 as Universal Remote Control, Inc. But of course CCP says no device found. However when I go to XP MODE or VMWARE it does not show the MSC-400 even as an option to attach. Any help would be greatly appritiated. If I could find it in XP MODE I would use the driver in the CCP Drivers folder.

I'm not sure if XP mode makes a difference, but the MSC400 is not compatible with 64 bit operating systems.

In Windows XP mode under the USB tab in the upper left window the MSC-400 shows up as an "Unidentified device".
Simple attach it and it will upload and download in CCP.

You will hear a audible connection and the blue light on the MSC-400 will flash when you've attached the correct device.

Windows 7x64 will allow MSC-400 programming in XP mode!

It sounds like the driver isn't loaded.
Does the MSC-400 show up under the device manager list in Windows XP-Mode?
It should be under universal serial Bus Controllers as URC USB Sync MSC-400.
If it doesn't show up in device manager, you can load the driver from there.
Scan for hardware changes and then point to the program files\Universal Remote control inc\ccp\MSC-400\drivers\xp and load the driver.

Hope this helps!

That's the problem the MSC-400 does NOT show up in device manager on XPMODE it does show up in Win7 x64 though... Good news is URC will finally be back at work tomorrow. Will give them a call and see what they have to say.

Got it working. Turns out it was my usb3 ports that caused it.
