I have a MX-6000 that is appox three years old. It quit operating off the battery so I assumed the battery was bad. I purchased a battery from URC for $100(a steep price in my opinion) - received the battery in a very prompt manner, placed it in the remote, charged for a couple of hours - the remote went dark once removed from the charging dock.

I called URC and was told that my ONLY option was an exchange out of warranty and the cost would be $720. I think this charge is quite excessive.

Is the norm? Does anyone repair these units at a reasonable cost?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Ted

Yes, it's the norm! I received the same response with a year old MX-5000.
I doubt you'll have any luck finding someone to fix it, where would they get the parts? URC wouldn't be any help with replacement parts!

Face it, it's a brick! Spend the replacement money and hope the knew one lasts longer than 3 years.

I do feel your pain!

did you try plugging the ac adapter into the side of the remote and not the charging station?

Any chance you have tried to reload the program with their firmware updates?

Thanks for the reply - Where would one get this firmware update?

Thanks

You're up to date on firmware, it passes thru the download. I would contact your dealer or rep and get the unit exchanged.
