On a Sony TV Model # KP-51W5510 that is in the URC IR database there are settings for video1-6.

But the HDMI (DVI) is on Video 7 and there is not direct button to go to Video 7. The only way to do it is hit the input button and manually go through the inputs.

We are typically on input 6 so most of the time this works as I just programmed a macro to hit the input button once so it goes to 7.

#1 Is there any key that goes directly to Video 7? Maybe its called something else. I can not believe they have an direct key for all the inputs except the best one!

#2 if not, is there a way for it to only execute the "input" command if its not on input 7 already and do nothing if it is and only do it if its on input 6?

here are the discrete codes that I have saved on my laptop for newer sony tvs.  you can use the hex function within the Universal Browser to copy/paste to a button in your configuration.

did you try the codes?  just because they aren't labeled to match the tv, doesn't mean they won't work.

I'll do it in the morning. I will copy and paste your codes to hex editor and then hit the drag icon and drag it to a button. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks in advance

Like Duct Tape suggested, you should test the codes even if they aren't labeled Video 1, HDMI1 and so forth. Sony codes for a long time were just labeled Video 1, Video 2, Video 3... You have to test them and relabel as you go. They SHOULD work.

It didn't work.

I hope I am doing it right and simply pasting the hex code into CCP and then using the drag i con and then dragging it to a button.

I found an HDMI switch with lots of positive reviews on Amazon and am going to use that to get around this whole thing. I read up and it says the switch should not degrade the picture as it just needs to transmit 1's and 0's

Thank you Duct Tape to always responding to my posts!

Now all I need are the discreet codes I posted in that that forum (DirecTV HR24 & WDTV Plus)

Would another option be a macro that hits the video6 button then the input button once to get to 7?

absolutely, but i'm sure the proper code exists for his TV, he just hasn't found it yet.

DD, have you tried the discrete codeset 621?

otherwise, I would start at the end of the sony tv list, and work your way up.

at the end of the list it will say Sony 29, Sony 28, etc

The higher the number, the newer the codeset.   use the test feature to test each individual codeset until you find the code you need.  I would be surprised if it wasn't in there somewhere.
