If one where to plug in the MRF350i and an RFX250i and both the power and RF lights come on on the RFX250i and only the power light on the MRF350i comes on what might that mean? I have them connected with the short 3.5mm cable. Is that a special cable or will any stereo 3.5mm M-M work? I'm going to try the other connector to see if anything changes. I have the address on the bottom of the MRF350i set to 0. Tried both at work and at home. Thought it might just be interference but I am really thinking this might be something else.

I posted this on another forum and thought I might try my hand here.  Hope someone has some insight.

Did you check to see if the cable is pushed all the way in both endes? Sometimes it doesn't seat properly.

you have the RFX250 plugged into the RF Input, not the output, correct?

Have you to make up a jumper cable of your own using some cat5 and the 3 post connectors on the RFX250 and MRF350?

typically when the RF light is lit and there are no buttons being pressed on your remote, it means you have RF interference.  ID 0 is for testing for RF interference.  It should not be left on 0 for normal use.

I may be wrong, but I believe he understands that the constant light with no buttons pressed means RF interference. I think he is puzzled because the light on the RFX is constant, while the light on the MRF is not.

i thought so too at first, but when he said he had the ID set to zero, it made me wonder why he had it set to zero.  so i figured I would add that in to my list of things to try.

It is a good point to bring up, no doubt. The light on the MRF should light up whenever the light on the RFX does though.

Yes, I intentionally set the ID to 0 to test for interference.  The RFX-250 is plugged into the RF in.  I have tried the 3.5mm connector and the screw down connectors.  I have also tried another RFX-250 as well.  I have moved the id selector to the other positions.  All the models are the "i" version.  No matter what I get the same lights.  Both the power and RX lights on the RFX-250 and only the power light on the MRF-350.  No flashing just solid lit.  I've tried it in two locations and I'm reasonably sure it is not interference.

Exactly my thought.  I've read the manual over and over and both the status on the MRF-350 and the RX on the RFX 250 should be lit if it is interference.  I'm leaning toward a defecftive MRF-350.

Well, I've tried three other RFX-250i's and two MRF-350i's all the same result.  Now I guess I could have all bad equipment.  I do not have the original power supply for the MRF-350i could that be it?  I'm using the power supply from the 980i remote charging base?  Could this cause this issue?  Can someone confirm this?  I'm going to go out and get an exact matching one tomorrow and see if anything changes.

considering the mrf350 uses a 9 volt power supply, and the mx980 uses a 5 volt power supply...yes, that is probably the issue.

i'm surprised that the unit even powers up.

You know how many times I looked at that tiny writing on that adapter for the remote and saw 9v.  Just checked again with a magnifying glass and your right.  Will try this again tomorrow with the correctly sized adapter.

:)
Thanks!
