Programming RS-232 for Sony KDL32EX720 and everything works with the standard Sony TV codes but Power On, anyone have any idea if I've got to make changes in the codes from the msc-400 serial database (or if there's a wrinkle I'm unaware of)?

Thanks

Derek

Before you turn the TV off you must enable "Standby Command" to allow the TV to turn on with a serial command.

I believe the Standby Enable is \x8C\x00\x01\x02\x01\x90
and the Standby Disable (as if you would ever use it) is \x8C\x00\x01\x02\x00\x8F

Thanks very much, the other key aspect of getting it to work is a 500 ms delay between the two commands.

True, the manual does state a 500ms delay between commands is required. This is the manual I use for many of the Sony TVs
