My dealer provided me with the MX-980 software, which was very helpful. I have my remote setup with all the functionality I had hoped for and more. The software only has a single theme available -- Alpha1. I understand that the expansion pack has many more graphical options, which would enhance my setup. Unfortunately my dealer has not provided the expansion pack after multiple requests. Does anyone have ideas about where/how to get it? Note that I am familiar with URC's software policy, and I am hoping the expansion pack is not as restricted as the programming software since most of the reasons given for URC's policy would not apply to the expansion pack.

The expansion pack carries the same restrictions as the CCP/MX-980 software. It is not readily available. You should ask your dealer if they are willing to share the expansion pack with you.

URC should create and sell end user versions of the software. Make it activate with the serial number and only work with one device. $500 bucks a pop.

Or how about an uploader!! I program the system for the customer and later he wants a couple changes. I do the changes, email it to him and he just plugs in the remote and uploads the file.

Gotta rig up an ethernet to serial cable convertor box :). Wire remote to switch and load remotely!

If that is what it took to get me the software and not have to deal with some of the "pros" who are scared to death of a DIY'er having access to the software, then count me in.

So I guess I send my check to URC? How again does that help the dealer who is afraid of me?
