I am programming my first KP4000 and like I do in programming a MX 980 I generally set up a few favorite channels for music as well as TV channels, problem is when you go to the area for icons under a 4000 in CCP there is TV channel icons but none for music, where as under a 980 in CCP there are both music as well as TV channel icons what am I missing? Would be a real drag if that is the way this thing was designed.

Any help with this would be helpful,

Barry

I'm pretty sure you can make them from existing buttons.
URC should make them though!

Stamp would know how to do this for sure........Maybe someone can help here?
I'd like to learn an easy way to do this myself.
I believe the KP-4000 uses 79x60 png. files for favorite buttons.
In properties you can export your MX 980 buttons to a folder (79x120 png), re-size them for the KP-4000 and then import them into your KP-4000 programming.
I've done this for backgrounds, but have never put the time in to create buttons.
The Mx-5000 buttons are 79x79 which may be easier to modify?

Anyone know a fast way to do this?

Just found this.....

www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-custom/thread.cgi

This sounds like it will do batch files and convert buttons all at once?

copilot from guifx will take an image file with a white background and overlay it on any button that you want.  if you had the music channel logos you could easily make the kp4000 buttons yourself using the copilot software.

Thanks so much for the backround info, I will try it out to se if will handle the small amount of logo resizing I need to make happen. I do think that URC should have at least kept the same amount of fav logo capability from the 980 to the 4000 but it doesn't surprise me that it was over looked by somebody. I have just never seen anybody that wanted to control TV type stuff from a keypad more than it was used for an audio control center( zone 2 or just plain audio control).

But than again I'm not a huge programmer so Icould be wrong.

Thank you all for your insightful posts to help me with my situation I truly do appreciate it.

BTW Darnitol (not Darnital) is Dale Crawford, graphics man supreme at URC.

Robert Durbin is the trainer dude.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

maybe I'm confusinging things, but I thought Darnitol was Jeff Wagner.  If I had it wrong, then disregard my previous post.  oops.

edit: yep, my bad.  i'm an idiot.
