I connected the remote to my PC via USB to add a new cable box and do not know what happened. My remote lost all the settings. How can I get them back

Did you download or upload?

Do you have a saved program on your pc?

Details, please... what happened?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

This is first time I was using the CCP program. I connected the remote to the PC. After browsing and trying to learn a few things. I clicked on DOWNLOAD. I assumed it means it will download from the remote to the PC. However at the end it did not give me any option for saving it. I tried to upload but it gave me an error.

Thank you for replying

download means to send the CCP program to the remote.
upload means to send the remote program to CCP.

sounds like you wiped out your original configuration on the remote.

Thats strange. Typically download means something coming from an outside source (remote in this case) to your PC. So am I doomed.

I agree that it sounds backwards. I guess it is coming from the perspective of the remote and not CCP.

Doomed? Do you not have a copy of your programming on your PC? How did you add a cable box to CCP without saving? You can always reprogram from scratch so your 880 isn't dead, just perhaps a clean slate.

Thanks. I will have to start from scratch as I can not find the installer who did the original programming.
