I've been a long-time user of URC products. At this point, I have a MSC400 and 4 MX980s. Had 2 MX6000 but never achieved desired music control so I purchased iPad and CasaTunes for Russound whole house audio control and MobiLinc Pro HD to control all things Insteon -- great combination. I use the MX980 wand remotes to control AV equipment and really like them.
Just wondering what would be required to replicate some AV function control on iPad. I know at least one of the new WiFi controllers and....?
I see the ipad.dll download with each CCP update and have seen press release about future app in iTunes Store is the extent of my knowledge.

There is an iPad app under development for the URC Total Control product line but I don't think it's intended for use with Complete Control products. The MSC is a Complete Control product so I don't think it will support iPad apps. Since the app isn't out yet, I don't know all the details but I believe it will require MRX-10 or MRX-1 in the mix to work. The 980's aren't made for the MRX controllers, so you'd be looking to change those. Basically a changeout of most, if not all, URC products to Total Control for i-app.
Maybe someone else has better info.

Thanks. I plann to continue using MSC400 and MX980s. I'm really wondering how much I'd have to add to coexist TC devices and enable some iPad control.
