Do you happen to have a 433MHz remote with a 418MHz basestation? It may actually work from a very short distance and with sporadic results.

Not to my knowledge, the manuals and their website say they are both 418.

As the MX450 is only available in 418Mhz, that could only mean the RF base could be wrong.

Any chance the base part # is MRF260i ?

I double checked the base and the sticker, it is MRF260. Also, I just got back from a friends house where I tested the remote with his 350 and it worked perfectly.

We have installed MANY MRF260s and I'd have to say that, in our experience, problems with interference (referring to noise inside a cabinet) are very rare. TV/projector interference, however, is common. When that happens, use a boot to cover the IR window. If it doesn't cover it completely, use tape/cardboard to cover the rest of the window and things should be fine.

There will be many times with cable boxes, receivers and certain components where you need to tweak your IR levels for proper performance.

Now interference with the old MRF300...I wish that RF brain had a face so I could punch it.
See our Youtube page for info about smart homes, great audio and more.

Wouldn't the "0" sniffer setting show any interference? Ive tried locating it outside the rack about 10' in front with a long emitter and adjusted levels. Same results. Wouldn't the interference go away with the other components off?

Problem is solved. A Radio Shack rf repeater 2 floors away caused all the problems. Thank you all for your responses and help, I can finally sleep at night.

RF260 getting interference from Samsung Blu-Ray. Anyone know of a good blu ray to use that doesn't throw off interference?

Doesn't exist.

They all through off RF. Placement of the 260 is everything.

I found this older thread, due to similar MRF-260 RF problems (very inconsistent to no performance), with the channel 0 lit up/blinking consistently even after removing sensors and moving it around within the rack area. Moving the unit to the other side of the room 12' away same problem. Noticed when the power brick line was extended vertically the problem was worse. Moved it back to the original location, and removed the antenna. The channel 0 interference ended, and performance was pretty good, except at the far end of the great room. Taking a cue from the power brick vertical lead, wrapped the power lead 4 times through a ferrite, replacing the antenna in the rack location = no interference. The power lead was a great RF antenna.....So now the 260 works flawlessly from a distance in the rack location....The sensors did not pick up RF, I assume because they were mostly horizontal (although much longer), that is, unless the RF was in the power line and not filtered by the brick.
:)
FWIW

Replace it with a mrf-350 the MRF-260's aren't worth the hassle.

I have done hundreds of MRF-260, YES they are very much receiving interference from anything nearby, blurays, cable boxes and AV receivers, although very unconventional I now clip EVERY antenna mid point at the taper and it gets rid of 90% of problems instantly... The MRF-350 is about the same but better at rejecting but I still get issues where I put the antenna...

That's awesome!

They've only been waiting some 18+ months for your info.
