Gents, are we still looking at this thread? First chance I've had all week.

If I've got the TV, Cable box, and DVD player working quite well by using the IR Database, this thing should be set to I.R., not R.F., right? (See Surf Remote's Post 13.) I cannot find a way to switch it back and forth from RF to IR, but I will need to soon when I set up the MRF-350.

Is there any chance only that one device is transmitting on RF?
Thanks for your help!

Yikes! It is reacting to the AVR 745 dataset! I think that's great news?

Now the issue is........there are no buttons for HDMI1 or HDMI2. (I use HDMI1 for Cable, and HDMI 2 for DVD.) The database just gave me Video 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and a bunch of other stuff. So what would set it to HDMI 1 or 2?

Appreciate your help. This is exciting progress for me......
Thanks for your help!

One of the steps is to set which devices use which RF assignment.

I got so excited, I forgot to go back to those steps.

It looks like each item under Watch and Listen (took your advice and made them the same) is set to RF & IR, Receiver: Default, and Flashers: All

Sounds right to me. Thanks if you can answer my question above about HDMI, and then I guess I can go back and start trying some Macros. (Although Step "Learn" and Step "Macro" are greyed out on my list.)
Thanks for your help!

Well, I'm not sure exactly what model you have, but there may be discretes for the HDMI inputs somewhere. If not, does the device have a toggle to toggle between inputs? You could then go to Vid 5 and then choose it via the toggle from there. By having the discrete from another input you're verifying that the macro would always start on the same input. A bit lengthy but usually the best workaround.

"Macro" and "Learn" are grayed out because you don't have a button selected.

I think I know what you mean. The master remote for the Harman Kardon uses the same button to switch between HDMI 1 & 2. (I hit it once for #1, and twice for #2.) Plus, the front of the AVR has a Source button that arrows up and down to scroll between all the possible inputs in addition to the HDMI's.

Not sure if understand what you mean by "go to Vid 5 and then choose it via the toggle." Do you mean "choose it" by "learning" it? I haven't "learned" any commands yet, and fear it'll erase something or screw something up.
Thanks for your help!

OK...I've never used this particular piece, but do you have a code to get you directly to video 5? Now, when you use the "source" button, is HDMI one of the options? You can make your macro select it.

If not, disregard what I said.

HDMI 1 and 2 can be learned from the HK remote. Learn the first command (HDMI 1) the normal way, then for HDMI 2, point the HK remote away from the MX-900 when pushing the button the first time, then push it again with the remotes lined up. It worked that way for the 645.
