Look in your Device Manager. Is the MSC-400 showing up, or is it listed as "Unknown Device"? If it's showing up as an "Unknown Device", you need to update to the correct driver via Device Manager.

Do you have Windows Mobile Device Center installed? If not, you will need it to communicate.

Thank you,
Damon

Same problem here. I have windows 7 professional, 64bit OS machine.

Mobile Devise Center is installed.

In device manager, it's showing up as "unknown device". How do "update to the correct driver"?

Thanks,

Can't update MSC-400 with 64bit. Known issue that URC has no plans to fix. Use XPmode.

Thanks Duct Tape. Before I install a Virtual Machine on my new computer, I tried my Vista machine running 32bit.

Same problem. Do you know if there is a Vista / MSC-400 communication compatibility issue?

Did you manually install the driver by browsing to the msc400 driver folder?

No, didn't know that was necessary. I'm in the folder (see image). Any idea which one is the driver?

URC dropped support for that thing at Vista. It's an absolute train wreck. URC told me they keep a windows 32 bit xp machine laying around so they can connect to it. Isn't it great you can still buy it like new and it is listed as a modern product on their website.

I currently dual boot into windows 7 32 bit. It was installed only only to talk to that singular device. 7-32 bit mode and xp mode (32 bit) can both communicate with it.

It Says "Make sure you're running Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate."

My T420i Lenovo says it is Win 7 Premium Home. Does anyone know if I will be able to get this to work?

I keep a couple XP laptops around for this but it would be nice to know what I will do if they die.
