Discover does nothing.

AP is currently set to open - no encryption.

IP address for PSX2, my laptop, MX6000 are all 10.254.x.x and all match except for the last digits. The PSX was located and firmware updated over the network.

Why won't the MAC address appear? Is it normal to have to enter it manually?

The MX6000 does the weather, stocks, etc. but will not connect to the PSX2. Is this all because of no MAC address in CCP?

Thanks for asking that Tom, it gave me an excuse to ask the product department.

Turns out that the discover function doesn't work for MX-5000/6000 but has to be there because of the KP-4000. I don't know why, so don't ask.

You do need to enter it manually.

As for the PSX issue, I would have to ask you a bunch of questions to figure out if you've done something wrong. Wanna just send me an email or give me a call?

Is the fact that there is no MAC address going to be the reason that the MX does not communicate with the dock???

Shouldn't be that. Probably has to do with the PSX-2 being told what its IP address is, the remote being told what its address is (and what the PSX's address is), firmware update on PSX and possibly others.

Hence my suggestion to call or email me...

OK, I'll be at the job in a couple more days and will keep your number handy. Thanks!

Did you press and hold the "Mute" and "OK" buttons for five seconds in order to access the network settings?

I came up a big zero.

Bump.

Do I have a defective MX-6000?

This is the first one I have programmed.

The MAC address does not automatically show up in CCP.

If I press MUTE and OK to get into the system screen, it shows normal IP addresses, but the MAC address shows 00:00:00:00:00:00.

Is it the 6000 or am I missing something? Where is the MAC address normally displayed?

I figured it out.

The access point needed a different static IP that lined up with the rest of the network. Web browsing fine, but no MAC address. Change the static IP and the MAC address appeared in the MX-6000 system window. Then I had to locate the MAC address for the dock and enter it under "properties" and was done.
