Looking at these two remotes and while the price tag is quite a bit different, they seem close together for my use.
I am just looking to do basic media center control, but am mainly interested in a really ergonomic remote. The 450 actually looks more ergonomic than the 5000 because of those "dips" for the skip and vol commands. Anything advanced will be done via my home automation controller or go through pass through my home automation controller so the 5000 advantages in those respects are not significant to me.
I like the motion sensor on the 5000 and prefer batteries on the 450 (less stuff to plug in and good batteries last months). I can't really see any other distinct advantage of the 5000 for my purposes though. Like I said, all the advanced stuff routes through a home automation controller because the 5000 isnt gonna cut it for that anyway.
Just not sure the extra money is going to good use and if the 450 actually may do a better job for my puproses (looks like good no look ergonomics).

Thanks for the input. On paper it looked good, but after reading your comments, I would seem to agree.
