i set up the new 880z remote w the basestation. the customer doesnt always want to listen to the surround w the cablebox so i set up 2 activities using the cable box, one w surround one using the tv volume. my problem is i couldnt get the tv volume to adjust on the cablebox activity. when setting up the RF control i have things that im using the basestation with set to RF and the TV is set to IR. so basically what i need to do is get the Cablebox w.o surround to use the TV volume because as of now it does nothing. Thanks for the help

If I'm understanding correctly you just need to program your macro to turn/off or not turn on the audio receiver, and then punch through the TV volume. You may also need to turn on the speakers in the TV. I personally dont like these type of setups because if the TV volume is still on when they want to watch with the surround sound they will get an echo. You could try to put a TV mute command into your audio turn on macro, but some TV's I have seen the mute symbol stays on until you unmute the TV. Hope this helps.

emann, did you copy the first setup to make the second? It does sound like you didn't punch through the volume and it's still trying to use the volume for the surround system instead.

It's been a while since I programmed a URC remote, but this was pretty straight forward when I was doing MX-700 and MX-850.

You might want to look for the controls to turn on/off the speakers on the TV and then include that in your ON/Off macros to avoid having the TV speaker on when using the surround system. Alternately you can lower the volume all the way down to zero - which means a lot of code repeating (since you won't know where the volume is originally you'd better include some extra volume down repeats).
