We have an MX-880 that works perfectly with a new Cisco RNG200 direct IR. Flawless. However, when the codes are shot through the MRF-350, the response is poor. The box only sees every fourth or fifth button press.

The usual suspects have been tried:
1. Adjusted the variable output on the MRF-350.
2. Moved the IR repeater around the entire face of the unit.
3. Replaced the URC IR repeater with a low output Xantech emitter.

Not one of these showed any sign of improvement. We are having to work around the issue for now with an IR repeater system for the cable box. Isn't that special?

Any suggestions?

Have you swapped out the MRF-350?
Are you getting RF interference?
Where is the MRF in relation to the other equipment?
Where is the antenna?
Is this the only device affected?
"You can't fix stupid."

Have you used code 113 from URC's database?

Did you reset the software from IR to RF and assign an ID code?

I was building a favorite channel macro set in CCP for the Cisco rng200 with the msc-400 and had the same problem. I actually had to reduce the default repeat count for each digit down to a single flash. It has worked perfectly ever since and is faster then I ever imagined a 4 digit macro could be (starting with a zero), the numbers streak across the screen and fire every time. I was never able to globally adjust the repeat to a default amount, I had to adjust every number in every macro. Does anyone know how to set a default repeat count before entering the channel numbers? Not sure if you can edit the repeat per digit with lessor base stations as I was just using the rf trigger function from the wands.

All the basics are covered, including typical noob software use and hardware placement. We've had enough issues with URC's RF to have been down those roads. Thanks for the interest, though.
We have since tried several things, including frequency remodulation. Nothing. Since it seemed to be an undrdriving situation, we have not tried to lower the repeats. Will give that a whirl. Thanks to all!

I could not make it misfire after doing that. I left the client 3 months ago with 5 pages of favorite channel macros and haven't heard a peep out of him. It works perfectly, but if you don't have a msc400 to handle the macro generation you might be outta luck.

If you double click on the IR code listed in the macro edit window for a remote, the repeat option window opens. You can choose the number of repeats. (Found that after you suggested the repeat thing.)
