Wait a minute - I never said anything about this being my general experience with URC - just a constructive cricism about some of the things i encounter.
Sorry for my misinterpretation.
I'm not part of the team that decides
which products need to be added to our line—I just help design the ones the company determines we need. The waterproof remote topic comes up often, and gets re-examined often. It's true, there
are a large number of people who want a waterproof remote. There just don't appear to be very many of those people who are actually willing to put down the money when it's actually time to take out their checkbook. When you're one of those dealers who could sell a dozen or two of them a year, it seems like the whole market is probably like your market, but sales numbers for this category clearly indicate that those dealers are a rarity.
I'd love to see that change. There are a number of us here at URC who would LOVE an outdoor remote. (I live in Texas, so it would be useful here most of the year.) But like any product, we can't build a product because people want it—we have to build what people will actually
buy.(Oh... and for what it's worth: like I said, I don't make these decisions. I don't even influence them that much. I could be the world's biggest proponent of a product, but it's still not my decision to make. I'm just joining in the discussion here, same as you.)
Best regards,
Dale
