I'm having a problem with the "up" direction jumping up three instead of one. The down direction works fine. I believe I need to adjust rhe "Minimum repeat when pressed setting" but I can't as the box is greyed out. How can I get access to the setting?

That only works for database codes.

Try learning the code again. Make sure you hold the source button down until it finishes learning.

you can also try learning a "quick" press. Meaning when you press "up" on the remote don't press and hold. Just quickly press and release.

Always try holding the button until learning finishes as Daniel said. KVH's suggestion is a good one if holding it until the remote finishes learning doesn't work.

A complete IR code holds a single code as well as a repeat code in most cases and the quick tap will not give you the whole code, but in some cases is the only thing that will work. Learning the entire code is always the best as it usually gives you the most user-friendly operation.

Also make sure you have new batteries in the remote you are learning from in order to get the best original code. I've seen many cases where somewhat weak batteries in the remote originating the signal caused learning problems. Sometimes it's not the learner that has a problem, sometimes it's the teacher.
