Good Evening,
I am trying to program an MX-900 to use a macro that includes discrete power on and a different macro that uses discrete power off. After programming the macro in the computer, I test it with the remote attached to the computer and everything works, so I download the new macro onto the remote and press the button through the remote and it does not work. On top of that, after using the database to get the proper IR codes for my model, the remote will NOT control the blu-ray player. I even made the remote learn some commands from the original remote and it still did not work.
Everything works while connected to the editing program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Jake

I hate to ask the obvious questions but is the device set to IR? Do not leave it on the default of IR/RF, set it to IR until everything works, then set up the RF if you are going to use RF.

I have already had everything set to RF and had the issue you describe, only to find out I had the RF set to the wrong channel. When I tested through the remote it was sending IR from the remote, and therefore working, when I disconnected it was sending RF on the wrong channel so it appeared as though nothing was working.

Have you downloaded any codes to the remote which have worked correctly?

no, I have not downloaded any codes to the remote that work. I have even made the remote learn the codes directly from the pioneer remote.

unfortunately it is a client's remote and I cannot check the ir/rf settings right this second.

it is weird because while i have the remote hooked up to the computer and test the macro i created everything works flawlessly but after i download the macro and what not to the remote and unplug everything the remote does not control the blu-ray player but does control tv, receiver, and cable box.

Thanks for the advice guys.

look at your program, you dont mneed the remote to do that. As mentioned, make sure it is set to IR and not RF until you confirm everything is working
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

That player is a major PITA to get to come on and off. The codes on Pioneer's website didn't work for me. Heck, the original remote didn't work the way it should!

I ended up using "DVD.337.on/off" for the on (it behaves as a discrete w/ this player) and "DVD.337.off" for the off.
