I still have some new TX-1000's I want to unload. I see that I can program them in their editors to fire off the macros in the 400, and then upload the config into CCP. My problem is if I ever want to mod the TX-1000 triggers I am unable to download from the MSC back into the MSC editor once I have uploaded it in CCP. I get a warning "this was created using a newer version of msc editor 1.28", even though I am supposedly using 1.5 of the stand alone msc editor. It sure would be nice to pop into msc editor when I need to, especially since the TX was supported in the grand scheme of things.
Is there a work around, punt or keep using the stand alone editors if there are no two-way ccp-only remotes in the clients system? The only countertop remote supported in CCP seems to be the 6000 which is way overkill (can you say ipad?).

Basically, with any remote not supported by the CCP, you need to keep using the standalone editor for the MSC-400. Same goes for the MX-3000, 950 and 810.

In the control room there is a ci that says the triggers are transferrable via ir learn mode to any of the narrow band rf remotes, once embedded on a ccp supported remote's page. This process would seem to allow ccp to be used for the msc and all but the unsupported remotes. I am going to try it but just shouting out to see if anyone else has?

Yes, that's the same way you could use an MX-350 or 450 with an MSC-400. It works, but it's often a PITA if you have a lot of triggers.

Another thing to consider is that the Trigger command is made up of 2 parts, the Macro Code Group which you will see listed after the group heading in MSC editor as (GRP-01),(GRP-02), etc. The second part is the command within the code group which is listed after the Smart Macro as (CO-01), (CO-02), etc.

Therefore you can program your 2-way remotes, and MSC in CCP, once you're finished, load the MSC and the 2-way remotes from CCP.

To program the non-CCP remotes, open MSC editor and don't create any connected devices or build macros, but just create the macro groups and smart macros and give them the same names you did in CCP and in the same order.

Now save the MSC file - DO NOT LOAD IT - and open it in UB within the TX editor and drag the trigger commands over. It will work the same because Group1 Command 1 is always the same, Group1 command 2 is always the same, etc.

It doesn't take long to create this MSC file and is a great solution, I used a TX1000 in the same system as my MX6000, MX5000, and MSC for a while, now the TX has been retired.

There are those who understand binary,
and those who don't!
