Hello, I just bought a used mx-800. The backlight seems to work but the text is very hard to read when light is on. The text is green when light button is pressed. I have turned down the contrast all the way which helps but is very hard to read even in complete darkness.

I bought this mx800 to replace one with a broken backlight but do not remember it being this hard to read when light is on.

Could anyone else with a green backlight MX tell me if their text is Green? On the mx-650 I have, the text is black when the light is on and the background is blue. The mx650 is much easier to read.

So does your mx-800 or other green backlit model have green text?? Or is something screwy with mine..? should it be black text on a green background?

Yep, my mx-800 has green text when the backlight is on.

An improved backlight is one the features the mx-850 added.
