I had an frustrating expireince yesterday at a client's home. Had to install a new 50" Sony LCD rearpro (KDS55A2000) and hook up some existing components (AVR, HD BOX, DVD) and finally reprogram an MX700. Now the HD Cable Box was hooked into Vid 6 (HDMI) and DVD was into Vid 7 (HDMI). I have programmed some Sony TVs before and I have those Vid 7, 8, and 9 discrete input codes in my computer and have had great success with them many times before. For some reason My TV macro worked fine with the VID6 command from the IRDB firing. But the DVD macro never switched the TVs input to VID7. The codes for the inputs were made from the HEX strings listed in the Discrete Hunter area using Pronto Edit and THEY HAVE WORKED MANY TIMES BEFORE. Also this TV does have a VID 8 input which I DID get to work. I even re-made the commands by re-copying the HEX from this site and pasting into Pronto Edit and using Universal Browser. Still no luck. Any one else having a VID 7 problem with this set?? Thanks in advance - Brian R

Did the set by chance go to the tuner when you tried the Video7 command? I don't know about that set specifically, but I ran into a few models where Video7 was actually a discrete (Digital?) tuner command. Video 8 and 9 have always worked fine, but 7 was slightly ambiguous om a few models.

No, Vid7 did not goto the Tuner. But throughout trying to see what did work with the set, like I found Vid 6 and 8 did, so did the discrete Ant or Tuner code.

Another member and I are in the same boat. I don't have the discrete codes though, and I'm not sure how to implement them.
Keep us posted please.

the old vid6 + tv/video is what I had to do. It works fine but was just wondering if anyone had recently done some programming with this set using Video 7 as a discrete command.
