I've had my MX-850 for a while and was using it in my HT setup. I decided to move it to my living room now that I have a new TV, hung over the fireplace and my components in a closet in the same room. I've gotten pretty much everything setup between the TV, the cable box and my LG BD390 Blu-Ray player, except for the discrete power on and off for the Samsung TV.

I'm using the Discrete 2007 codes and they seem to work for most things on the TV. (I've had to learn a few of the codes). Does anyone have any info on getting this working. It's the last thing I have to get corrected so my macros will work and I can eliminate all of my remotes.

BTW, I need the IR signal to work.

Thanks,

Josh

Just realized that I forgot to mention the Samsung LCD model. It's the LN52A750. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung 2007 discretes are your friend. In the database. Never seen them not work. Your wife didn't put some pretty flowers in front of the IR window, did she?

LOL, no flowers.

Like I said, everything else is working fine as far as the TV controls go, except for the seperate off and on controls. The signal isn't even registered by the TV. (the power light flickers when receiving a signal and doesn't when I press those two controls) The send light on the remote does come on however. I think it's just the wrong code, but I'm not exactly sure where to start since everthing else pretty much worked with the Discrete 2007 codes.

ii have a 46" A650, and am using it with discrete power codes that I'm pretty sure I got from the IR database. Make sure you are using the "P-ON" and "P-OFF" commands.

Those are the buttons I'm using, in the LCD menu, not the actual on and off buttons on the remote. I'm going to try setting the TV up again from scratch and see if that will fix the issue.

If anyone has any other suggestions though, keep 'em comin!

Thanks,

Josh

In some devices you have the LCD P-ON and P-OFF and at other times the hard buttons do the trick. No consistency as far as I can discern.

With the discrete 2007 codes, niether worked.

I ended up setting up a "dummy" device to test the codes. I tried an older Samsung descrete setting, don't remember specifically, but it was prior to the 2005 codes listed. The discrete on and off worked there, so instead of having to change everything, I just put shortcuts to those commands in my discrete 2007 codes and all is well.
