I can not fathom why in the world they would remove a very useful function that made programming complex configurations for advanced users an easier task. As it stands there is no way to route to multiple mrf outputs within a single device.. This is very useful for tone control or speaker levels within a device. You now are left to use macros in place of shortcuts and if you copy a macro and make a change to the original macro you need to keep track of this and recopy it. With shortcuts it simply references the associated button. Not to mention the page jumping during the programming.
Also there is no way to punch through the power buttons from different sources, another place where shortcuts were helpful.

I was told that shortcuts were a band aid in the mx800 because you could not assign a single command to a single button because you had to add the entire device. So the logic was that since you could do this in the mx900 shortcuts were not needed. I disagree completely.

I used to use the shortcut for my power off macro in the 850. Program the macro on the main off button, and then use the shortcut feature to link to the macro on all my device off buttons.

In the 900, you're doing the same exact thing, but instead of using the 'shortcut' feature, you just create a 1-step macro. In the 900 I still create my off macro on the watch, off button, and then create a 1-step macro on each of my device off buttons.

There should be no need to copy a macro and have it duplicated somewhere else. You'd never use that in the 850. You'd use the shortcut feature. Just do a 1-step macro.

You can also use power punch through.

We only do this for the "slow" customers. That way On is always system on and Off is always system off. Just easier for them that way. Power users are another story......but we don't get too many of them.
